Clarence High School was back in session Thursday afternoon after a search of the building found there was no credible threat from a message mentioning a gun written on a bathroom wall.

The district on its website reported that the school went into a “hold-in-place” procedure at 12:15 p.m. following the discovery of the message.

District officials called the State Police and the Sheriff’s Department.

“It was determined that no credible threat existed and students returned to classes at approximately 1:00 p.m.,” according to the district’s statement.
