NIAGARA FALLS – A Syracuse man wanted in the fatal shooting of a Syracuse deli clerk more than a month ago was arrested Tuesday in Niagara Falls.

Eric Woody, 24, was taken into custody without an incident by members of the U.S. Marshal’s Violent Fugitive Task Force. Woody faces second-degree murder and weapons charges in the Oct. 1 holdup at Sabastino’s Deli on Ballantyne Avenue, Syracuse. A handgun that may have been used in the crime was found on Woody, authorities said.

Woody is being held in the Erie County Holding Center, Buffalo, pending his return to Syracuse.
