Felony DWI arrest in Wyoming county

WARSAW – A 52-year-old Gainesville woman was arrested and briefly jailed Sunday night after she was arrested on felony drunken driving and other charges near hear home on School Road, the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office reported Monday.

Joan M. Cuminale was stopped by a sheriff’s deputy on School road near Hoehandle Road after allegedly being observed driving on and off those roads and into oncoming lanes multiple times on both School and Lamont roads about 8:30 p.m.

After it was confirmed Cuminale had been convicted of DWI within the last decade, her car was towed from the scene and she was charged with felony driving while intoxicated, felony driving with a blood-alcohol level over 0.08 per cent, failure to keep right and failing to comply with a lawful order because she allegedly kept driving erratically for about a mile after patrol cars pursued her with their emergency lights on. She faces proceedings Dec. 2 in Gainesville Town Court.
