Garden Notes / News of area clubs and events

Willow Ridge Garden Club will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Zion United Church of Christ, Parker Boulevard and Koenig Circle, Town of Tonawanda. The business meeting will include nominations of club officers. Patty Moran, public information officer at the Western New York Children’s Psychiatric Center, will speak. Erin Heaney will discuss local environmental and justice issues. Barbara Dow, Lorraine Fontana and Claudia Reeves will present Thanksgiving table arrangements.


Williamsville Garden Club will meet at 10 a.m. Thursday in Bassett Manor, 245 Bassett Road, Amherst. Members will work with residents to prepare centerpieces for their dining tables. Business meeting to follow.


Orchard Park Garden Club will meet at 11:30 a.m. Thursday in the Orchard Park Presbyterian Church, 4369 S. Buffalo St. Following members’ sign-ups and lunch, David J. Swarts, president/chief executive officer of the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens, will speak about its history. Business meeting to follow.


South Town Gardeners will meet at 9:30 a.m. next Friday in the Burchfield Nature & Art Center, 2001 Union Road, West Seneca. Gardeners will create terrarium ornaments for the Hospice archway. New members welcome. No experience necessary. For more information, call 668-0209.
