Chiampou Travis Besaw & Kershner promoted Laura Markle, a CPA, to tax manager. Markle joined the firm as a staff accountant in 2008 and is a graduate of Niagara University. Also, the firm promoted Bradley Bach and Eric Blackman to senior staff accountants. Bach, a CPA, is a graduate of Brockport State College. Blackman earned a master’s degree from Brockport State College.


Goodwill Industries of Western New York named Tina Brown and Nicholas Lindstrom case managers in sheltered employment. Brown is a graduate of Buffalo State College. Lindstrom is a graduate of Medaille College. Also, the agency named Sheila Buie, Paschal Geraci and Donna Hernandez supervisors in sheltered employment; Karen Heffle assistant in the human resources and accounting departments; Norman Heffle driver, donated goods division; Robert O’Donnell maintenance lead in facilities; and Michele Williams janitorial staff.


The MedTech Association named Gerry Murak, CEO of SoPark Corp., to its 2013-14 board of directors. MedTech is a New York state association of pharmaceutical, biotech and medical technology companies, suppliers and service providers, and research universities.

Company Connections

The Made in America Store at Eastern Hills Mall in Clarence will have a ribbon-cutting at 1 p.m. Saturday. The event will include recording artist Ricky Lee, Made in America Store vendors talking about their products, and local author Robin Tolsma signing copies of her book about Flight 3407. The store is in the Sears wing of the mall.


Pioneer Credit Recovery, a subsidiary of Sallie Mae, was ranked first by the U.S. Department of the Treasury Bureau of Fiscal Service for the July-through-September 2013 quarter on its contract to recover past-due obligations owed to government agencies. In all, the company has been ranked as the top performer 28 times on three contracts. Sallie Mae credits Pioneer’s work with returning to the U.S. government $255 million in previously unpaid fees, fines, misused funds, overpayments and other debt.


Moog Inc., East Aurora, was awarded a $56,702 federal contract for bearing unit housings from the Defense Logistics Agency, Richmond, Va.
