Tree-planting sessions in need of volunteers

Volunteers are needed this weekend to help bring the forest back to Forest Lawn.

In conjunction with Re-Tree WNY, the cemetery has arranged to plant about 300 hardwood trees throughout the grounds.

A grant from the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo has underwritten the cost of 250 of them.

Volunteers are invited to assemble at the chapel.

Planting sessions will be held from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Friday and Saturday, rain or shine.

No experience is necessary.

Appropriate work clothes and closed-toe shoes or boots should be worn.

Tools and refreshments will be provided.

To volunteer, call Catherine Meyer at 885-1606, Ext. 242, or email
