A Buffalo man convicted of receiving child pornography has been sentenced to eight years in prison by U.S. District Judge Richard J. Arcara, U.S. Attorney William J. Hochul Jr. announced Monday.

Prosecutors said John E. Luchetti, 27, had numerous pornographic images of children on his computer, some depicting sadistic or masochistic conduct.

Luchetti, who used a neighbor’s wireless signal to gain access to the pornography, was arrested in 2011 after federal agents brandishing automatic weapons mistakenly staged a predawn raid on his neighbor’s home. Hochul later apologized to the neighbor and arranged to fix his back door, which was broken down in the raid.
