The Village Board scheduled a vote for its meeting Monday, Nov. 4 on a revision to the real property maintenance law. This change would allow the village to bill property owners when their properties are not kept up and in conformance with state code, such as keeping lawns mowed and trash and debris cleared from yards.
There was no comment at a public hearing held earlier this month.
Also this week:
• A celebration will be held at 1 p.m. today at Southside Municipal Center in honor of the day’s state distinction as “Don Bach Day” to commemorate Don Bach and his community service work. He founded the “Aktion Club,” a division of the Kiwanis Club that is a local service organization designed for people with disabilities who use the forum to take on projects, like fundraising for people in need after hurricanes and other natural disasters.
Bach has also been working to start up other Aktion Clubs in Western New York communities. He owns Bach’s Towing with his brother James, a Town Board member running unopposed for supervisor.
“He’s probably the most unselfish person I know,” said James Bach of the honor for his brother. “He was very humbled by it. He’s not a man for the limelight.”
Refreshments will be served after the program at 300 Gleed Avenue.
• The Aurora Town Board meets at 7 p.m. Monday at Southside Municipal Center.
