Collins flip-flops and exposes his true nature
The Oct. 18 article regarding Rep. Chris Collins’ vote against the debt ceiling and budget legislation is classic Collins.
He claims that he voted for the bill linking defunding the Affordable Health Care Act to funding the government because “… you can’t let the perfect be the enemy of the good.”
He further states that “we needed to keep the government open (and) there was not another bill.” Then he votes against the bill to raise the debt ceiling and reopen the government because it wasn’t perfect, i.e. kicking the can down the road.
Apparently reopening the government and preventing default was not enough “good” for him. There seems to be less distance between him and Senator Cruz than he would have us believe.
