Candidate for Mayor of City of Tonawanda
Lines on Ballot: Democrat, Working Families
Number of years living in city: 40
Top campaign platform agendas:
Community and economic development, extended tax breaks for homeowners who improve their homes and landlords that improve multi-family dwellings to help improve our housing stock, crack down on absentee homeowners, landlords, and financial institutions that bring blight and the problems associated with blight into our community, appoint qualified city residents to city boards such as Community Development which has been dormant for 8 years, rework a development contract that our current Mayor negotiated that gives new homeowners a 3 percent lifetime tax break, allows the developer to pay for the property and install the infrastructure in phases, and doesn’t protect the city if the developer pulls out before completing the development, and push up mandated sewer work in areas historically hit the hardest by flooding.
Biggest issues facing the town:
Thirty-five percent lifetime tax break for new Little League Development, flooding problems plaguing parts of the 1st declining downtown business district; quality of life such as streets, sidewalks, and trees; and 2nd Ward’s blight and the decline of our home values,
