NIAGARA FALLS – An apartment building and a business were targeted recently by metal thieves, Niagara Falls police said.

Police said a maintenance employee or Signature Apartments, 3100 block of Ninth Street, noticed the front windows of a vacant apartment broken and discovered copper piping and a hot water tank stolen. The loss and damage totaled $1,100.

Police also said that sometime this week, two threaded plates with bolts used for jacking up equipment were stolen from Apollo Steel, 4800 Wilton Ave. The loss was estimated at $800.
