A 22-year-old man was arrested early Tuesday after his vehicle hit a building on Grand Island, Erie County sheriff’s deputies reported.
Deputies responded to a report of a vehicle striking a building on Grand Island Boulevard at about 3:40 a.m. The driver appeared intoxicated, deputies said. Andrew Cerrillo, who lives in the town, was taken into custody after a brief struggle.
Cerrillo was taken to the local substation, where a breath test revealed a blood-alcohol content of .20, deputies said. He was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated – because his BAC exceeded .18, as well as resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration, criminal mischief, and unspecified vehicle and traffic violations.
Further information about the accident wasn’t disclosed.
Cerrillo was sent to the county Holding Center pending arraignment in Grand Island Town Court.
