William E. Swanson

Candidate for Town of Tonawanda highway superintendent

Lines on ballot: Democrat, Conservative, Working Families

Age: 57

Number of years living in town: 57

Occupation/employer: Superintendent of Highways, Town of Tonawanda Highway Department

Top campaign platform agendas:

To continue to provide the best quality highway services at the lowest possible cost to our taxpayers. Over the past three (3) years, I have reduced the operating budget of the Highway Department by $540,000.00 while implementing an electronics recycling program, the first suburban tree farm in WNY and re-negotiated our burnable garbage contract which saves nearly $300,000.00 annually.

Biggest issues facing the town:

From the perspective of the Highway Department, the biggest issue facing the town is our aging and deteriorating infrastructure.
