The Grand Island Town Board approved a resolution ordering an improvement of facilities at the consolidated sewer district.

During emergency repairs on the south side of Whitehaven Road in August, workers discovered a large portion of the sanitary sewer had collapsed. Monday’s resolution allows 620 lineal feet of sewer to be replaced at an estimated cost of no more than $1 million.

Also Monday, the Town Board passed a resolution to establish a lighting district of electric streetlights to serve the Park Place subdivision.
