A 17-year-old girl was listed in guarded condition at Buffalo’s Women and Children’s Hospital after someone gave her a pill known as a “Molly” at a Minnesota Avenue house party late Friday night into early Saturday, causing her to slip into a coma, according to Buffalo Police reports.
The victim’s mother reported to police that a male suspect gave her daughter the pill, which is the street name given to the drug otherwise known as MDMA or ecstasy. The victim, who was at the party on Minnesota Avenue with a 17-year-old friend from Niagara Falls, called other friends for a ride home from the party.
Two male friends from Cheektowaga took her to their Beach Road apartment about 1 a.m., according to a police report.
About 12:30 p.m., they then took the girl to St. Joseph’s Hospital where she slipped into a coma, according to the police. The victim was transferred to Women and Children’s Hospital a short time later.
Northeast District Police were investigating the report.
