Violating protection order gets Cheektowaga man 6 months in jail

A Cheektowaga man was sentenced to six months in jail for violating an order of protection by making telephone threats.

Eric T. Moore, 43, of Barbara Place, was sentenced Thursday by Town Justice Paul Piotrowski. Moore had pleaded guilty to a charge of criminal contempt for violating the order issued previously by the judge.

Moore was arrested Aug. 5, after he called a woman and threatened to strangle her to death in front of her daughter, according to town police.
