State troopers who stopped for lunch at a Gowanda submarine shop at noontime Thursday arrested a man there who they knew was the subject of an Erie County Sheriff’s Office arrest warrant in a Buffalo-related case.

Joshua A. Bowers, 24, of Persia, N.Y., surrendered without incident and while he was being booked troopers found he had a hydrocodone tablet and some marijuana.

He was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana before being taken to Buffalo.
