LOCKPORT – Terrell X. Hand, 26, of 16th Street, Niagara Falls, pleaded guilty in Niagara County Court Friday to a cocaine possession felony.

Hand admitted to a reduced charge of attempted fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. He was found with 0.127 ounce of cocaine during a police raid on his apartment on April 6, 2012. County Judge Sara Sheldon Farkas scheduled sentencing for Jan. 10. Hand faces a maximum of 18 months in prison.

In another case Friday, Joseph A. Zavarella, 49, of Ontario Street, Lockport, pleaded guilty to the same charge as Hand. Police caught Zavarella with 1.06 grams of cocaine when they raided his apartment Feb. 21. He also agreed to forfeit $389 taken from him during the arrest. Farkas scheduled sentencing for Jan. 16.
