North Tonawanda-based International Fiber Corp. has acquired Maryland-based Fibred, a provider of premium soy fiber products for food applications.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. It was IFC’s first transaction since being acquired by Arsenal Capital in late August. IFC supplies insoluble fiber products for food, pharmaceuticals and industrial applications globally.

Arsenal said the acquisition was “part of our plan to significantly expand IFC’s presence both in North America and internationally.”

IFC has more than 250 employees, and Fibred has 30 employees.
