LOCKPORT – DNA testing on blood found at the scene of a May 10 burglary on 25th Street in Niagara Falls led to charges against a Falls man, a prosecutor said in Niagara County Court Thursday.

Joseph C. Knepp, 46, of Sixth Street, was arraigned on an indictment charging him with two house burglaries. The first allegedly occurred April 13 on Ninth Street, but it was the May 10 incident that led to the blood testing and further counts against Knepp, Assistant District Attorney Joseph A. Scalzo said. In that incident, the homeowner was awakened by the sound of glass breaking and found blood at the scene.

Knepp pleaded not guilty to two counts of second-degree burglary and single counts of fourth-degree criminal mischief, petit larceny and attempted petit larceny.
