CIR Electrical Construction buys Metro electric

CIR Electrical Construction Corp., an electrical contractor in Lackawanna, has acquired Metro Electric & Communications, a copper and fiber optic cable installer formerly located on Atlantic Avenue in the Lovejoy neighborhood of Buffalo.

“By combining our strengths, it strategically positions us for continued growth and to exceed our customers’ future and ever-changing needs,” said Greg Jakubowski, vice president at CIR.

Metro electric does a lot of power wiring for special events such as the Taste of Buffalo and the Italian Festival. CIR bids a lot of public projects for New York State and specializes in energy efficient technology.

CIR will take on all of Metro’s accounts and employees, giving it a combined total of 125 employees.
