The Eden Central School District is looking to form a budget advisory team made up of a cross-section of district members, including residents, business owners, school board members, union representatives of the district’s employees and teachers.
“We are working on transparency in our actions,” Director of Finance Thomas Murphy said. “As part of that, we believe budgets should not be done by a few people in a closed room, but should be worked on year-round, in open meetings, actively involving the public.”
Meetings will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on the third Wednesday of the month, before the Eden School Board meeting.
