Episcopal churches hold services for cancer survivors

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a service of hope and healing sponsored by area Episcopal churches will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday in three locations in the Town of Tonawanda, LeRoy and Jamestown.

Five clergywomen who are breast cancer survivors will lead one of the services at the Episcopal Diocese of Western New York Ministry Center, 1064 Brighton Road, Town of Tonawanda.

A similar service was held last year at the ministry center.

Two additional sites were added this year: St. Mark’s Church, 1 East Main St. in LeRoy, and St. Luke’s Church, 410 North Main St. in Jamestown.

Current breast cancer patients, survivors, families and friends, and members of the medical community are welcome, regardless of their religious affiliation.
