The Lou Reuter Memorial Scholarship run will be raced over a new course when it takes place at 9:30 a.m. Sunday. The fourth annual mile run/walk and 5K will start at Ben Franklin Middle School and finish on the track within Adams Field, passing the Lou Reuter press box. Proceeds will go to the Lou Reuter scholarship fund.

Reuter was a dedicated teacher, coach and member of the Kenmore-Town of Tonawanda Board of Education. The scholarship will be presented to a Kenmore East senior who demonstrates community service, school spirit and finishes in the top 40 percent of his or her class.

Entry fee for the race is $20 and the first 200 to register will receive a free T-shirt. You can register online with a credit card at www.signmeup.com. Call 983-5584.

BASEBALL: The New Era MUNY AAA League will be taking applications for teams interested in joining. The MUNY league was formed in 1912 and is the oldest amateur baseball league in the country. The league consists of the best amateur baseball players in Western New York. Requirements for application are: Name and contact of manager/coach; fenced home field with availability on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday; a roster consisting of up to 25 players with dates of birth and college or high school attended; the name of a committed sponsor. BOWLING: The 28th Tonawandas USBC 50+ Senior Masters Scratch Tournament will be hosted by Island Lanes on Nov. 10. All Tonawanda sanctioned adults age 50 and older are eligible. The $40 fee will be accepted on site the day of the tournament. Paid reservations are due Nov. 9. Walk-ins will be accepted based on lane availability. Cash prizes will be awarded based on 1 out of 6 entries. The top two finishers will also receive trophies. Applications are available at all local bowling centers or at the website tonusbc.com. SOFTBALL: The North Cheektowaga Amateur Athletic Association (NCAAA) will be hosting a free clinic at the Villa Maria College gymnasium Nov. 11. This clinic will feature Jesse Rosenhahn from Elite Sports Training along with other area coaches. There will be two age groups and times for this clinic: Ages 10U from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., and ages 14U from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Register at ncaaasoftball@gmail.com or www.ncaaa.us. … Wheatfield Nitro girls travel team (10U) needs two players for the 2014 season.
