Wound Center of Niagara names medical, program directors

Dr. Michael J. Mitchell has been named medical director of the Wound Center of Niagara.

Aaron Wilson has been named program director.

Mitchell, a general, vascular and laparoscopic surgeon, is a graduate of Canisius College and the University at Buffalo School of Medicine. He completed his surgical training at UB. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Mitchell is also a clinical associate professor in the UB School of Medicine. He is a member of both the Erie County and New York State medical societies. He established a vascular and endovascular surgery program at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center in 2005.

Wilson, a Niagara Falls native, holds a bachelor of health science degree from Brockport State College. He spent five years working in orthopedics and wound care at Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown before returning to school to complete a bachelor of science in nursing at Binghamton University.

He previously worked as a clinical specialist in negative pressure wound therapy and in sales and marketing as a tissue regeneration specialist.
