A Health Care Fair is scheduled for 9 a.m. to noon Friday in the town’s Senior Center at 4620 Seneca St.

Information on Medicare/Medicaid, health insurances, senior living and nursing services will be provided. Representatives of local pharmacies will be on hand to answer questions, as well as administer flu shots, perform blood pressure checks and provide information about WNY Rx, a discount card that can be used to purchase prescription drugs regardless of insurance status.

Visitors also can tour the Senior & fitness Center on site.

• An evening of prayer for peace begins at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Fourteen Holy Helpers Parish on Indian Church Road in Gardenville. The event is part of the 15-month celebration of the church’s 150th anniversary. For additional information, visit www.14hh.org.

• West Seneca Youth Hockey Association will be celebrating its 40th anniversary with a party Nov. 9 at Lucarelli’s Banquet Center in Lackawanna. The evening will include live music, beverages and food stations, and raffles. Donation is $20. Tickets will be available at the door or by emailing Bobsilvestri@bestofwny.com.

• St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3512 Clinton St., will begin a yearlong celebration of its 150 anniversary at 10 a.m. next Sunday, Oct. 20, with singing old favorite hymns, followed by a 10:30 worship service led by Pastor John Klatt. Afterward, photographs and other memorabilia of the church’s beginnings can be viewed in the parish hall, where light refreshments will be available. The community is welcome.
