Where We Live: Hamburg

“Welcome Neighbors” is the theme of this year’s annual Hamburgh Holidays Santa Claus parade Nov. 30, and parade organizers are inviting neighboring communities to participate.

“Please be as creative as you can to make a beautiful, a whimsical or old-fashioned holiday float. This is a great opportunity to have all eyes watching and reading your banner and see who your business or club or organization is,” said Eileen Hotho, one of the organizers.

The parade begins at Union-Pleasant Elementary School on Union Street at Center Street and continues east and north on Main and Buffalo streets, concluding at the Village Square, where cookies and hot chocolate will be served. Youth groups, businesses, service organizations, marching bands, clowns and marchers of all ages can participate.

Registration forms can be obtained at the Hamburg Village Recreation Office and Village Hall or by emailing hhparade@yahoo.com. Registration continues through Nov. 22.
