A house fire across from Springville Griffith Institute was knocked down early this afternoon by crews from the Chaffee-Sardinia, East Concord and Springville fire companies.

The fire in the single family home at 320 North Buffalo St. was reported around noon and extinguished shortly after the crews’ arrival. Reports did not indicate damage was severe.

“It doesn’t look like the house caved in,” said Springville Mayor Bill Krebs after talking to a village building inspector on scene.
