The Buffalo Museum of Science will celebrate Columbus Day on Monday with the opening of Bug Works, its newest interactive science studio.

Developed by Buffalo-based Hadley Exhibits, Bug Works offers seven interactive displays in which visitors can learn about insects and arthropods, test their relative strength against them and hear the sounds they make.

It also features specimens from the museum’s Entomology Collection, including some of its Marchand Insect Models.

The museum also will offer special family-friendly insect activities from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday. Bug Works is the fourth of eight interactive science studios the museum plans to open by October 2015.
