Five adults and three children were evacuated early this morning when fire ripped through a four unit apartment house on the 100 block of Selkirk off Exchange Street, which runs off Exchange Street, firefighters said,

The blaze started at 3 a.m. at 149 Selkirk in an area known as Little Hollywood. The Red Cross was called to provide shelter for the displaced residents.

One firefighter suffered minor injuries, according to fire officials who estimated damage at $85,000.

Cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
