NORTH TONAWANDA – A North Tonawanda teenager has been charged with attempted murder after stabbing another teenager several times during a fight early Saturday, Nort Tonawanda police said.

Jordan L. Wankasky, 17, of Nash Road, is charged with second-degree attempted murder, second-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, police said.

Police were summoned at 5 a.m. o 95 Hagen Ave. in response to report of an assault with a knife.

The victim, also 17, was stabbed in the head and upper body. He was transported to Erie County Medical Center, where he was treated for injuries not considered life-threatening and released several hours later, police said.

Wankasky ran from the attack scene but was caught by a short time later, police said.

Witnesses told police the attack occurred after the suspect had lost a fight with him minutes earlier.
