OLCOTT – Drunken driving and other charges were lodged against a West Main Street man early Friday after he nearly drove his vehicle into Lake Ontario, Niagara County sheriff’s deputies said.

Charles R. Hawk, 52, was arrested on Beach Street, where his vehicle became stuck in sand and heavy equipoment was required to remove it. Hawk was charged with driving while intoxicated, unlawful possession of marijuana and violating a restricted license.
