Over $5,000 in jewelry taken from Olcott home during vacation

OLCOTT – A woman told Niagara County sheriff’s deputies on Wednesday that more than $5,000 worth of jewelry was taken from her apartment in the 5700 block of West Main Street while she was on vacation.

The 52-year-old victim said diamond earrings, a starfish necklace with pink diamonds, an 18-carat gold seahorse necklace, a ring with six jewels and other miscellaneous jewelry were taken from her jewelry pouch while she was in Las Vegas in late September. Also taken was a prescription for Suboxone and a bin of collected pop bottles.
