During the month of October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, hospitals throughout Niagara County will offer free breast cancer screening to women age 40 to 64 who do not have health insurance.
The Cancer Services Program of Niagara County, a program of the county Health Department, covers the cost of mammograms and Pap tests for women in this age group without insurance. The program also offers free colon cancer screening to unisured men and women age 50 to 64.
Events are scheduled as follows:
• 8 a.m. to noon today, Mount St. Mary’s Hospital, 5300 Military Road, Lewiston.
• 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Eastern Niagara Hospital, 2600 William St., Newfane.
• 8 a.m. to noon Oct. 19, DeGraff Memorial Hospital, 445 Tremont St., North Tonawanda.
• 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 26, Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center/Summit Healthplex, 6934 Williams Road, Wheatfield.

If the times above are unworkable, screening can be arranged at another time.
