Zyglis’ cartoon hit the nail on the head
Adam Zyglis, The News’ editorial cartoonist, came up with a winner with his Sept. 21 drawing. He should get a Pulitzer Prize for it. His artwork of an ostrich with the torso of a football sticking his head in the sand beside a crumpled-up note “Head Injuries” says it all. Professional, college and high school football authorities are hiding from the facts that concussions are very dangerous. They occur in the game of football, and some pros suffer as many as three or four in their football careers.
The ostrich hiding his head added tragic irony to this situation. Zyglis drew a masterpiece.
