Reports of my death greatly exaggerated
With all due respect to the Rev. Paul Seil, a fine priest whose My View article was published in The News Oct. 2, I wish to take exception on two points.
He referred to me as “the late political reporter for The News” and inferred I had something to do with his defeat in his 1983 campaign for a seat on the Buffalo Board of Education because I described him as then Mayor Jimmy Griffin’s candidate.
Point 1. I am not the “late” political reporter. I’m still here. As Mark Twain said: “The reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated.”
Point 2. Seil was indeed one of Griffin’s candidates.
