Lackawanna police offer reward in homicide investigation

A $5,000 reward is being offered by the Lackawanna Police Department for information leading to the successful prosecution of the person or persons who killed Richard Abrams and shot his cousin, Damon Turner early on Aug. 25.

Abrams, 50, a former Lackawanna High School basketball star, and his cousin were shot about 12 a.m. at 18 Olin Lane following an altercation at a block party in the Baker Homes Project. Abrams was pronounced dead at the scene.

Turner was hospitalized about a week and is recovering from his injuries.

The award is being offered in conjunction with the Greater Buffalo Metropolitan Crime Stoppers organization.
