Bravo to Bills, BPO for huddling together

Professional football and symphonic music may, at first, seem diametrically opposed, but they worked together in harmony on Sunday, when our Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra performed “The Star-Spangled Banner” for the Buffalo Bills and their fans at Ralph Wilson Stadium.

The growing partnership between our gladiators and our musicians is a win for both organizations and the community. To their credit, the Bills recognized the value of a strong symphony in this community by becoming a corporate sponsor in helping send the BPO to Carnegie Hall this spring.

While the Bills are clearly a leading civic organization carrying the flag of Buffalo – and one we look forward to continuing to support for decades – our community is rich because of our diverse range of outstanding institutions. Our young people attending the game saw that we have room on our community’s biggest stage for both the athlete and the musician. Bravo to both organizations for huddling together.
