Power Authority closing fishing pier on weekdays

LEWISTON – The New York Power Authority has announced that the public fishing pier at the base of the Niagara Power Project will be closed weekdays, effective Monday, through the remainder of the fall fishing season.

The reason for the closure is the roadwork renovations under way on South Access Road.

On weekends, access to the free pier will be available, as usual, from dawn to dusk. The fall fishing season ends Nov. 1 or sooner if the first snow falls before that date.
