The closure of the South Cascade-Miller Road Bridge in Springville, originally scheduled for this week, has been postponed for one week.
The NYS Department of Transportation notified village officials late last week that inspection of the structure, better known as the “old Route 219 Bridge,” won’t start until Sept. 30. The work will close the bridge, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The duration of the closure should not exceed five days and may be less, village officials said. In the meantime, a detour will route drivers over the divided portion of the 219 highway.
