Niagara women’s soccer goalkeeper Olivia Wood was back on campus Monday after a few scary moments in Sunday’s pregame warm-ups. During drills before the Purple Eagles hosted Duquesne, Wood banged her head on the goalpost. She was unconscious on the field.

Upper Mountain Fire and Rescue came on the scene and she was airlifted to ECMC. Wood was in stable condition and was released from the hospital about 8 p.m. Sunday.

The senior from Port Rowan, Ontario, will go through medical follow-up and follow university protocol for dealing with head injuries before returning to the playing field.
