Hospice Day of Remembrance will be celebrated Oct. 6

LOCKPORT – Niagara Hospice families, volunteers and staff will celebrate a Day of Remembrance at 3 p.m. Oct. 6 in Lockport Senior High School, 250 Lincoln Ave. The event will be held in memory of Niagara County residents who have died while under the care of Niagara Hospice from July 1 through Dec. 31, 2012.

Invitations to family caregivers were mailed in early September, with a deadline of today to respond, which has been extended to next Wednesday. Families are asked to make reservations by calling the Niagara Hospice spiritual care department at 280-0768 and indicating how many family members will be in attendance.

Held annually since 1989, the nondenominational service will offer a time of remembrance through reflection, music and companionship as the names of Niagara Hospice patients who have died are read.

For more information, contact the Niagara Hospice Spiritual Care Department at 280-0768.
