A Women of Influence awards luncheon Tuesday will benefit a tree planting on Buffalo’s waterfront this November.

Lake Shore Savings Bank, the presenting sponsor of the annual event, being held in Salvatore’s Italian Gardens, Lancaster, will donate funds in honor of 25 women to restore the tree canopy at an entranceway to the outer harbor in the Old First Ward.

The planting will be done by bank branch staff and Re-Tree WNY volunteers on Nov. 8.

“The donation we are making to Re-Tree WNY adds more than a dozen large trees to the Western New York waterfront, which will beautify and add to the renewal of our area’s biggest resource, our lake shore,” said Daniel P. Reininga, Lake Shore Savings Bank president.
