Troopers from four local state police barracks wrote 97 tickets and charged three people with driving while intoxicated during a DWI saturation detail coinciding with the Buffalo Bills home game Sunday.
Two of the DWI arrests occurred in Orchard Park, while the other was made in the Town of Elma. Those three arrests were made between 5:55 and 8:10 p.m.
Charged with DWI were Elizabeth J. Hartnett, 41, of West Seneca; Christopher K. Hiestand, 45, of Amherst; and Joshua M. Meyers, 27, of Elma. Hartnett was accused of registering a blood-alcohol level of 0.11 percent, Hiestand 0.09 percent and Meyers 0.14 percent, according to police reports.
In addition, Orchard Park Police cited 62 people for having open containers of alcohol on public roads. Two of them also were cited for being under age.
