Bandits trade Wiles for picks

The Buffalo Bandits on Saturday traded forward Luke Wiles to the Philadelphia Wings. In return, the Bandits will receive two second-round picks in the 2014 National Lacrosse League draft.

Wiles’ two years as a Bandit had some major ups and downs. He was acquired from Washington before the 2012 season, and he had a breakout season with 39 goals and 31 assists.

However, Wiles’ production fell to 10 goals and 11 assists last season. He was even taken off the active roster at one point. Wiles’ wife is from the Philadelphia area, and at one point in the 2013 campaign he was driving from Philadelphia to Buffalo each week for games.

This year’s NLL draft will be held Monday night in suburban Toronto. The Bandits do not have a first-round pick, but do have the first pick in the second round (10th overall).
