Garden Notes: News of area clubs and events

Smallwood Garden Club will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at Weinberg Campus in the Meadows, 2650 N. Forest Road, Getzville. Martha Johnson, owner of Ancestral Acres, will speak on preparing an herbal or dried flower wreath.


Federated Holland Garden Club will hold its regular meeting and luncheon at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Brink Memorial Community Center, Legion Drive, Holland. Club members Christine Wheaton and Sarah Tobin will present “Succulents & Cacti” – their history, culture and propagation – and a PowerPoint program on the Joshua Tree National Park. Judges Council of 8th District of Federated Garden Clubs of New York State will meet at 10 a.m. Thursday in Brighton Community Church, 1225 Brighton Road, Town of Tonawanda. The horticulture exhibits will include ornamental grasses, vegetables, herbs and cut flowers. The exhibits in design will be creative pot-et-fleurs.

Forest Stream Garden Club will hold a potluck dinner and garden auction at 6 p.m. Thursday in Forest Elementary School, 250 N. Forest Road, Amherst. Members and guests are invited to bring a dish to share and plants and plant-related items for auction to benefit the garden club.
