LOCKPORT – A 42-year-old Town of Lockport woman has been arrested jailed for allegedly stealing about $15,000 from the bank account she had been handling for two elderly individuals, the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Melissa L. Marshall, who was arrested Thursday after an investigation by the sheriff’s Criminal Division, was jailed in lieu of $1,000 cash bail on third-degree grand larceny and first-degree theft of services charges.

Investigators said Marshall made about 60 unauthorized withdrawals from her elderly victims’ bank account. She faces further proceedings in Lockport Town Court on Oct. 10.
