Michael Ederer of Lancaster scored three times, while Daniel LaFontaine and Pat Egan each had a goal and two assists Monday to lead the Buffalo Junior Sabres to an 8-4 win over Toronto/Lakeshore in their Ontario Junior Hockey League home opener at Northtown Center in Amherst.

West Seneca’s Darren McCormick scored twice in the win for the Junior Sabres (2-0), while Nolan Sheeran of East Amherst added a goal and an assist. Buffalo led 6-0 after two periods. Joseph Pianta, acquired in a trade from Toronto/Lakeshore, earned the win in goal for Buffalo, making 19 saves.
