Donna M. Blair, retired Buffalo teacher, volunteer

Donna M. Blair, of Derby, a retired Buffalo teacher, died unexpectedly July 27. She was 67.

Born in Buffalo, Miss Blair was a graduate of D’Youville College. In her 32-year career in the Buffalo schools, she taught fourth grade at School 43 for about 26 years, then taught fifth grade at School 63. She retired in 2001. In retirement, she was a volunteer for Hospice Buffalo, Meals on Wheels and the DeGraff Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

She also took one or two cruises annually. She was a member of the Buffalo Retired Teachers Association, the BRTA Card Club and the Scarlett O’Hats Red Hatters. She was a devoted Yankees, Bills and NASCAR fan.

Survivors include a sister, Jayne E., and a brother, Ronald C. Harris.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Sept. 20 at the Bell Tower in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cheektowaga.
