The “No Principals Tour” finds Blondie and X, the leading lights of late-1970s/’80s new wave from opposite coasts, uniting for a show likely to celebrate the virtues of New York City and Los Angeles punk and post-punk.

Blondie, featuring Debbie Harry, is the most commercially successful representative of the New York City new wave generation that gave us the Patti Smith group, Television, Talking Heads and the Ramones.

X, the critically hailed, iconic cult-level L.A. punk outfit, is still touring with its original lineup of John Doe, Exene Cervenka, Billy Zoom and D.J. Bonebrake. Together, the bill offers fans of this seminal era of alternative music a tour through all of its strengths.

At 6:30 p.m. Friday, Blondie and X arrive for a show at the Rapids Theatre (1711 Main St., Niagara Falls). Tickets are $49 (www.rapidstheatre.com, Ticketfly.com).
